Pisces Australis (Austrinus), the prince, is a constellation in the south of Aquarius symbolised by a fish who drinks the water from the urn of Aquarius. It is placed in the part of the heaven where many symbols are related to water like: Cetus – the sea monster, Capricorn – the fish goat, Pisces – the fishes, Delphinus and Aquarius.

In mythology it was the symbol of fertility and life, because it was the one who carried the egg, drinking the sperm or river of life.

Cygnus, the swan, represents some legendary swans like that in which Zeus disguised in order to seduce Leda, the mother of the twins Castor and Pollux, Helen of Troy and Clytemnestra. After seduced Leda, Zeus commemorated the birth of Helen of Troy by creating the constellation Cygnus, the swan.

in other myths, Orpheus and the king Cycnus was also transformed into a swan.

40. Constellation – Eridanus, the river

Eridanus, the river, is the longest constellation on the sky with a multitude of stars.

In Greek mythology Eridanus represents the tears shed by Heliades at the death of her brother Phaethon and placed into the River constellation to console Apollo, his father. The story tells that Phaethon tried to run the Apollo’s chariot of the Sun in order to prove his friends that he was Apollo’s boy, but he lost the control and because it could hit the Earth, he was struck by Zeus and died.
